Humanitarian Aid
In my opinion, it is not plausible to preach to hungry people. Jesus said: “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me…” (Matthew 25:35). That’s why my mission includes humanitarian aid. I started tithing and donating to charities around age 10. Since then, I have supported many mission and charity organizations around the world (South America, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Madagascar, Africa). It was always an honor to give but also somewhat disconnected although many of the mission partners were our personal acquaintances and part of our church where I grew up.
After meeting my friends from Uganda it became much more direct when I was invited to visit the water well that I funded. For many villages in rural Africa, finding drinkable water is still one of the main tasks and risks of the local families. It was impactful to see the joy and thankfulness of a whole crowd of people who now have access to clean water. Not to mention the waterborne diseases that are prevented for the future. That’s when I decided that I want to provide humanitarian aid and basic needs items for people living in poverty. Water, food, shelter, clothing, medical supplies etc. Future ideas will include solar panels for the center of the village.
The help given will be supervised by local partners and tied to certain projects. We want to provide sustainable help that will support families for generations to come. We meet the partners in person and help given is based on needs and not on ideologies. Donations are used to support our core mission and not shiny marketing materials or prestige projects.
